Welcome to Baltimore Yearly Meeting!
Baltimore Yearly Meeting builds and nurtures a strong and vibrant Quaker community across the Mid-Atlantic. We seek to build community, grow in the life of the spirit, discern right action, and bear witness in the world. BYM includes Quaker meetings in parts of Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The BYM Office, located in Sandy Spring, MD, provides technical support to local Quaker Meetings and opportunities for Quakers in our region to work, play, serve, learn, and grow spiritually together as Friends.
There will be a called Interim Meeting on the 20th of April at 1:30 pm (via Zoom) to discuss and hopefully approve Peace and Social Concerns Committee's recent minute on Ceasefire between Israel and Palestine. The minute received a first reading at Winter Interim Meeting on March 23rd, and Friends present agreed that the matter was too urgent to lay over until June Interim Meeting for a second reading. Philip Gulley is a Quaker pastor and beloved writer and speaker from Danville, Indiana. The author of If the Church Were Christian, If Grace Is True, If God is Love, The Evolution of Faith, and Living the Quaker Way, Philip will share his recent explorations of “The Awakened Soul” on Sunday morning at 8:30. Lancaster Friends Meeting is delighted to welcome Philip back to our Meeting for the third time, and we look forward to sharing his visit with Friends from other Meetings and with the Lancaster community.
