September 20 – 22 – Family Camp Weekend
Shiloh Quaker Camp (Hood, VA)

Family Camp Weekends at Baltimore Yearly Meeting Camp Properties offer us a chance enjoy our beautiful camp properties during this delightful time of year. Individuals and families are invited to come to camp for a day or for the weekend. A program coordinator will plan camp-familiar activities for Saturday and Sunday mornings, as well as Saturday afternoon and evening. Perhaps you will explore a creek, create a crafts project, play a favorite camp game or take a hike in our precious woods. There will also be plenty of work projects to do! Work projects offer people with all kinds of skills the opportunity to enjoy some meaningful and satisfying service! We will savor meals together, have time to explore and even spend time around a camp fire in the evening. We invite you to join us for a BYM Quaker Camp experience, give the gift of your time, participate with children in activities and find yourself rejuvenated. Participants are asked to contribute according to their ability – $25-50 per person. For additional information or to register please contact David Hunter, Camp Property Manager. (301-774-7663 or davidhunter@bym-rsf.org) For more information, see the BYM Camps web-site at bymcamps.org/programs/family-camp-weekends/.

October 6 – World Quaker Day

Friends World Committee for Consulation invites you to join Quakers around the world to celebrate the 6th annual World Quaker Day on Sunday 6 October. The theme, Sustainability: Planting Seeds of Renewal for the World We Love draws us into our shared experience of earth care and the spiritual imperative to sustain life on earth. It is a chance to celebrate our wonderful diversity of expression, whilst at the same time offering an important opportunity to learn about Friends’ experiences of climate breakdown in other parts of the world. You might consider sharing a sustainability story from your meeting or church with another group of Friends elsewhere in the world and beginning a dialogue. Please visit our website www.worldquakerday.org for resources, ideas on how to get involved and to share your story. We hope you will share your World Quaker Day experiences with FWCC. It can be very simple—a description, a poem, a few photos, or even a short video taken on a mobile phone. We will post it online for other Friends around the world to see. For instance, the Africa Section will be planting more than five thousand tree seedlings at the Farmers' Training Centre in Lugari Yearly Meeting, Kenya! Our vision is for Friends to have access to a montage of activity of all sorts via FWCC’s websites and the FWCC World Office Facebook page. Please email any items to us with WQD as the subject or post it on the Facebook page or Tweet us at @WorldQuakerDay #WQD2019.
