The ad-hoc General Secretary Search Committee has developed a new job description which has been reviewed by the HOPE Committee and has been approved by Supervisory. We will be holding a called Interim Meeting for the purpose of approving the General Secretary job description on February 6th at Friends Meeting of Washington. In order to accommodate several of our hardworking committees who had previously scheduled meetings, we will be holding Interim Meeting from 2pm–4pm that day. A simple meal lunch will be served at 1:00 and childcare (between 12:30 and 3:30) will be available for requests made by January 29. Please see the FMW website for directions and parking information. We hope many of you will be able to make it in person, and we ask all of you to hold us all in the Light as we move forward in this process. Come learn about this new opportunity to live into our testimony on equality. For six years the Working Group on Diversity at Camps has been working to create genuine diversity at Catoctin Quaker Camp by building community with young people from Philadelphia. The results have been substantial increases in the number of campers and staff of color, high retention rates for those members of our community, and deepening conversation around equity. Now this promising model is coming to the DC Metropolitan Area. Come learn more about some of the work that is already being done locally, this new initiative, and how you can be a part of expanding this program to all of the camps, as well as to Meetings and the Yearly Meeting as a whole. Choose one of the following sessions.
• AFTERNOON SESSION: 12:15-1:45 PM at William Penn House (515 East Capitol Street SE, WDC—8 min walk from Union Station metro) – brownbag welcome, snacks and beverages will be provided.
• EVENING SESSION: 7:00-8:30 PM at the Wessel family's home (7005 Westmoreland Avenue, Takoma Park, MD) (it is a 7 minute walk from the Takoma Park Metro station) - snacks and beverages will be provided
