Welcome to Baltimore Yearly Meeting!
Baltimore Yearly Meeting builds and nurtures a strong and vibrant Quaker community across the Mid-Atlantic. We seek to build community, grow in the life of the spirit, discern right action, and bear witness in the world. BYM includes Quaker meetings in parts of Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The BYM Office, located in Sandy Spring, MD, provides technical support to local Quaker Meetings and opportunities for Quakers in our region to work, play, serve, learn, and grow spiritually together as Friends.
There will be a called Interim Meeting on the 20th of April at 1:30 pm (via Zoom) to discuss and hopefully approve Peace and Social Concerns Committee's recent minute on Ceasefire between Israel and Palestine. The minute received a first reading at Winter Interim Meeting on March 23rd, and Friends present agreed that the matter was too urgent to lay over until June Interim Meeting for a second reading. The 2023 Women's Retreat It's official!! The BYM Women's Retreat will have a one-day in-person and hybrid (via Zoom) gathering this Fall. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 8th, 2022 from 10am-6pm at Adelphi Friends Meeting. The day will include worship, worship sharing, chanting, a few workshops, BYO bag lunch, and hopefully a few pre-planned coffeehouse acts.
