What About Prayer?

What does it mean to pray? To hold in the Light?

In these times we know, most of all, that we need to connect to the source of presence and love that guides and grounds us.

There are many forms of prayer – come share and learn from other Friends as we seek to "sink down to the seed."

The retreat will begin with supper at 6 o’clock on Friday followed by our opening circle. There will be two sessions on Saturday (morning and afternoon) with an evening of festive fellowship and singing. Our Sunday morning session will be followed by Meeting for Worship and lunch. Departure is immediately after lunch.

Retreat participants will receive a detailed welcome email and pre-retreat exercise about one week before the retreat. If you have questions as the retreat nears, please contact the program registrar, Amy Schmaljohn, at amy@schmaljohn.com.

Registration closes Monday, April 13. Note that Shepherd’s Spring has fewer rooms than we are used to at Claggett; most are doubles. If everyone gets a single (some using a double as a single), we have room for only 24 people (plus campers and those opting for the cabin). Please consider this in making your lodging selections. Spiritual nurture funds are available through both local Meetings and through the Yearly Meeting. The retreat welcomes all of us who seek a deeper life in and with Spirit.

The final Young Friends conference of the year! All are invited to a weekend of fun and fellowship which will end with a celebration of our graduates.

Following the end of con, Stony Run is hosting a free Conscientious Objector Training that YFs are welcome to register for and join! Follow the link below to register.
An important note: registration for this training will close ONE WEEK before con.

The Ministry and Pastoral Care Committee is offering an online Grief Support Group. The group meets at 7:00pm on the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is April 15. E-mail the office at admin@bym-rsf.org for the Zoom link and additional information.

Come connect with your camp friends! Alumni weekend will be at Catoctin Quaker Camp this year on Memorial Day Weekend. Alumni of *ALL* BYM Camps are encouraged to join. We will worship, play, eat, sing and connect with each other. We will also work together to envision how we can support the work of our amazing camping program moving forward.

We invite everyone to come from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, May 22-24, 2026.

Those who can stay through Monday, Memorial Day, can help set up camp for the summer by giving their labor to camp for a Work Day!

Stay an extra day after the Alumni Work Weekend, or just come up for Memorial Day for a work day at Catoctin! We will be taking down the Hip-Camp rental sites and prepping Catoctin for Camp! Many hands make light work.

Generally, the committee meets on the 4th Monday of each month.
