Lodging Options

Shepherd’s Spring has fewer rooms than we are used to at Claggett; most are doubles. If everyone gets a single (some using a double as a single), we have room for only 24 people (plus campers).  Please consider this in making your lodging selections. Information about the lodging options can be found on the Shepherd’s Spring website.

Once again, we will have a cabin option. The cabin sleeps up to 10 people in bunk beds in one room with a shared bathroom and shower.  (If you have any environmental or respiratory sensitivities, you may want to consult with Amy Schmaljohn (amy@schmaljohn.com) before selecting this option; While some have been affected by the space, many have stayed there with no problem.) It may be co-ed, depending on who signs up for them. The cabin is a short hike through the woods to the lodge where we will meet and eat; you can also drive to the cabin.  We need at least 4 people to choose this option in order to offer it. If we don’t get 4, we’ll put you in doubles in the lodge. Click this link for a virtual tour and also see the property map on the same page.

Registration Fee

The rates listed above represent the costs the retreat center is charging BYM to host our retreat and include all meals. We are committed to ensuring all Friends can attend the Spiritual Formation Retreat. Many local Meetings provide funds to support attendance at the retreat because your participation benefits the whole Meeting. If you would like to request such funds, please indicate below and choose "pay later." All requests will be kept strictly confidential. It will take your Meeting time to respond to your request, so it will be to your advantage to act soon.

  • If no, please click "continue" below and choose “Pay Now” on the next screen to pay in full by credit card or bank transfer. Choose “Pay Later” to pay by a check mailed to: Baltimore Yearly Meeting, 17100 Quaker Lane, Sandy Spring, MD  20860. Please write “SFR" on the memo line of your check. 

Important: Your registration will not be complete until your payment is received in full at the BYM office. Once we report our final numbers to the retreat center after registration closes, the Yearly Meeting must pay for you whether you attend or not

Registration will close at the end of the day on Monday, April 13. Late registrations may be made on a space-available, first-come-first-serve, fully-paid basis.

Refunds will be made only if requested and confirmed before the registration deadline, or in the event that you develop an infectious illness, such as Covid 19, at the time of the retreat.
