The 2023 Women's Retreat It's official!! The BYM Women's Retreat will have a one-day in-person and hybrid (via Zoom) gathering this Fall. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 8th, 2022 from 10am-6pm at Adelphi Friends Meeting. The day will include worship, worship sharing, chanting, a few workshops, BYO bag lunch, and hopefully a few pre-planned coffeehouse acts.
BYM’s Reparations Action Working Group presents a new workshop entitled Mutual Aid: A Friendly Approach. Rashid Darden of Friends Meeting of Washington presents an engaging and interactive experience that will walk Friends through the surprisingly colorful history of mutual aid. How do fezzes and tents connect with food pantries? What’s the difference between charity and true mutual aid? Find out in this fully virtual and free event on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:00am. Friends will also learn skills necessary to begin their own mutual aid ministries in their local meetings. This workshop will be recorded.
