Yearlong Online Program
The Spiritual Formation Working Group is pleased to continue offering a year-long, Zoom-based Spiritual Formation Groups that connect us across the Yearly Meeting (and even beyond the Yearly Meeting). The program is open to all Friends seeking the fellowship of community—and the listening and sharing about our spiritual journeys—that the program fosters.
The program has grown large enough that we will offer two cohorts for the year ahead. We will cap each group at 15 to ensure that there is sufficient time for all to share and connect with one another. For the first few months of the program this year, we will cultivate the community of each cohort to emulate the “large group” experience of our local meeting programs. We will have one group meeting on the third Monday of each month at 7 pm (Eastern Time) hosted by Andy Hoover from Carlisle Meeting and another group meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm (Eastern Time) hosted by Alan Schmaljohn from Gunpowder Meeting.
In the winter months, we’ll offer the opportunity for members of each cohort to form smaller spiritual friendship groups of 4 or 5 participants who would meet on a second date each month (chosen by the participants). This “small group” experience will be an optional feature of the year-long program.
We expect participants to make a commitment to being present at most of the large group gatherings so that we can come together with the consistency and intentionality needed to care for one another on this year’s journey.
