Baltimore Yearly Meeting is the regional organizing unit for the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in the area of central Pennsylvania, Maryland, parts of West Virginia, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. It is through membership in a Yearly Meeting that individual Quakers become connected with the larger Quaker movement worldwide. "In fellowship, in deep listening, in waiting worship, in commitment to each other, it richly rewards those who embrace the challenge of being a Yearly Meeting Friend." The Miles White Beneficial Society of Baltimore City is now accepting applications for one time per year grants of up to $5,000 from qualified non-profit 501C 3 organizations serving youth in Baltimore during summer 2020. MWBS is seeking to support organizations that provide educational, work, community service, recreational, and/or conflict resolution programs to underserved Baltimore youth and that have a connection to Friends’ Meetings or their members.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED ON or BEFORE June 1, 2020.

All applications must be in writing. Complete applications must be received by JULY 1st of this year.
The Jonathan K. Taylor Swarthmore College Scholarship Fund is administered by Baltimore Monthly Meeting, Stony Run to provide support to students attending Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA. Preference goes to members of the Baltimore Yearly Meeting community. For the 2020-2021 academic year, there are funds up to $15,000 to be distributed among the successful applicants. Langley Hill Friends Meeting is one of the co-sponsors of a Vigil to Protest Drone Warfare every month on the 2nd Saturday at the Main Gate of the Central Intelligence Agency. The Vigils begin at 10:00 am. “War is not the Answer”, “Drones are Evil”, and “Drones kill Babies, too” are just some of the signs Quakers have been carrying.
