Welcome to Baltimore Yearly Meeting!
Baltimore Yearly Meeting builds and nurtures a strong and vibrant Quaker community across the Mid-Atlantic. We seek to build community, grow in the life of the spirit, discern right action, and bear witness in the world. BYM includes Quaker meetings in parts of Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The BYM Office, located in Sandy Spring, MD, provides technical support to local Quaker Meetings and opportunities for Quakers in our region to work, play, serve, learn, and grow spiritually together as Friends.
There will be a called Interim Meeting on the 20th of April at 1:30 pm (via Zoom) to discuss and hopefully approve Peace and Social Concerns Committee's recent minute on Ceasefire between Israel and Palestine. The minute received a first reading at Winter Interim Meeting on March 23rd, and Friends present agreed that the matter was too urgent to lay over until June Interim Meeting for a second reading. Come join the conversation with two local Quaker guest speakers, Marcy Seitel (Adelphi Friends Meeting and Baltimore Yearly Meeting Clerk of Interim Meeting) and J.E. McNeil (Friends Meeting of Washington) as they share stories of how Friends are building bridges. Gather with us at the Quaker Welcome Center on Dec. 18, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. EST for hospitality and mingling before our event, “Building Bridges, Building a Movement: Loving Thy Neighbor in 2020.” Register to attend in-person at the Quaker Welcome Center.
