Q: You said the cons are run and organized by Young Friends, are there any adults there at all?

A: Yes.  Insurance and good sense mandate that we have several "Friendly Adult Presences" or "FAPs" at every conference.


Q: What is a "FAP"?

A: A FAP is an adult member of the yearly meeting who attends YF cons incase someone gets hurt or sick or otherwise needs help from and adult.  They sit in on our Business Meetings and offer advice, but they do not take an active role in running the conference.


Q: How much does it cost to attend conference?

A: Conference fees are $40 per person.  This pays for food, the use of the meeting house, the workshop leader(s) (if any) and any other costs that come up.


Q: What is the Executive Committee?

A: The Executive Committee (Exec.) is a group of Young Friends who handle specific tasks related to managing the community.  Some Exec. positions are Clerk, Conference Planners, Treasurer etc.


Q: What does Exec. Do?

A: In addition to handling the tasks assigned to them by their job description, the members of Exec. meet at each conference, as well as at two retreats each year, to discuss how the community as a whole is functioning, and brainstorm cool things to do at cons.  In addition to this, Exec. also discusses confidential issues regarding the community before they are brought before the community at Business Meeting
