Alexandria Friends School

On April 27, 2012, it was announced that Alexandria Friends School would close at the conclusion of the 2011-2012 academic year.

The official statement of the school's Board of Trustees read:

"The Board of Trustees of the Alexandria Friends School has decided, with deep regret, to close the School at the end of the current academic year. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve our students and their families over the past six years, and we are proud of what we and they have accomplished. Unfortunately, we have not been able to enroll enough students for the coming year to continue in operation. We would like to express our deep appreciation to all of those who have given of their time, talents, resources, and enthusiasm to support the work and vision of Alexandria Friends School. We are especially grateful to Will Stewart, whose leadership, commitment, and self-sacrifice made it all possible."
