Baltimore Yearly Meeting builds and nurtures a strong and vibrant Quaker community across the southern Mid-Atlantic. We seek to build community, grow in the life of the spirit, discern right action, and bear witness in the world. BYM includes Quaker meetings in parts of Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. The BYM Office, located in Sandy Spring, MD, provides technical support to local Quaker Meetings and opportunities for Quakers in our region to work, play, serve, learn, and grow spiritually together as Friends.

Friends Camp (South China, ME)

Art Camp is a weekend gathering for artists of all media and faiths to explore art as a spiritual practice in a summer camp setting. Art Camp is packed with scheduled group programming, opportunities to work individually and collaborate, and free time to enjoy what summer camp in Maine has to offer. Art Camp's fabulous staff provides creative, transformative programming that allows artists to delve deep into both their artistic and spiritual practices whilst in community. Hands-on workshops and collaborative projects allow artists to share the creative skills they have and learn new ones. Group discussions and a variety of worship experiences encourage spiritual nourishment and growth and bridge the gap between art-making and practice of faith. Many choices of summer camp activities like singing, swimming, boating, group games, and excursions in the woods bring the silly fun that makes Art Camp truly special. Most of all, we foster connections between people who believe that art and faith are inextricably linked - connections which will continue outside of Art Camp in the work we are led to do together. Open to artists of all media 18 and older: painting, video, illustration, music, performance, dance, photography, fibers, sculpture, writing. Open to artists of all spiritual backgrounds who are ready to practice Quaker values together to create intentional community. Want more info?
