The Field

by Paul Inskeep

As I gaze out this window, on a

clear, frosty, morn,

the fields are

covered in a pristine, white,

blanket

A short distance off a chain-link fence

is glimming in the early

morning mist;

laced with crystals, that remind me

of God's grace and His jubilant

Spirit.

As the day grows older, the fence reveals

ts stark reality, as the razor-wire is

exposed beneath the melting crystals. I'm in

prison

For those short magical hours, God's grace

shed His wonderful light, on this forsaken place.

He lit the hearts of those imprisoned, who gaze across that field, Solace

in God's mercy is our reward;

not man-made punishment.
