I Miss My Family

by Kevin Cooper

I miss my Family and my friends, like I miss freedom

Host my cousin last year, still I hear him speaking.

It was a tragedy, why did he die so young?

My aunt passed away too; she had cancer in her lung.

Now my mother on her own with the support of my girl.

I hate that I'm stuck in this prison.

And they're forced to face the world.

Everyday I let a tear drop!

For the lack of love that I receive when I’m surrounded by rapists and thieves.

Could this all just be a dream?

I think not, 'cause my reality is vicious

Often the same way I'm felling.

Every time that I think about home, I want to cry

Cause, in my mind I know that I let pride

Take control of my life born stubborn now my girl

She’s home alone.

And I miss her even more every time we talk on the phone!
