The Many

by R.D. Jackson

Trinket Chasers sparkle as they walk by.
Slow as they pass, their arms stretched to the sky.
Or in any direction to catch what they can.
Pockets full from busy hands.

Trinket Chasers' eyes always gleam.
Defining themselves by material things.
Feeling no shame by their ill gotten gains.
Seeing only what they choose to see.
Collecting and storing what they claim to be.
Trinket Chasers come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
Related or not, Mothers, Fathers, Sisters or Brothers.
A few undercover, some pumped with pride.
Yet they all live for one reason;
To accessorize the prize
