What do you hold on to
When there’s nothing left ,
And the pain causes so much confusion
That you lose yourself?
 
How do I shake this feeling?
Where do I begin my healing;
With no sense of direction
And my sense is lessening?
 
Who do I pick to lead me,
When my elders aren’t present
And my peers are just
An absent sense?
 
I’m trying to focus on the future
But these kids be blurring my vision,
Got me wondering,
Has existence fully run its distance?
 
I’ve been wrestling with this for many months
Combined with the sickness of both my Aunts.
The birth of my niece and my mother’s last tear
Just landed at my feet.
 
I didn’t have the strength to wipe it away,
It wasn’t even enough security in my voice,
Once I found
The right words to say.
