I'm Sorry

by Marc Gutman

These are the two hardest words in the English language. They can easily be said without being meant ,but then they are as worthless as this paper they are written on. I have a lot of things to say I'm sorry for over the past fifty years. Let me give you a brief list of the major ones.

First in my long list is, of course, I'm sorry for my crime. Due to my selfishness I put my feelings ahead of those of my victim .their family ,and my family .We were all affected by my actions and will be for a long time .I'm sorry that I ever picked up a drink or a drug, which helped contribute to my actions of disobedience over the years .I'm sorry I wasn't a better son who should have been there helping his family instead of ignoring them, thinking only of myself.

I'm very sorry for drifting away from my Higher Power, Jesus, who I now realize never gave up on me and was waiting for my return. I'm sorry I never stayed in college because an education can take you places beyond your imagination. I'm sorry for all the lying, cheating ,and stealing over the years , which led to me getting fired from more than a few jobs. I'm sorry for losing friends .through my own stupidity , I could use them back for support right about now. I'm sorry to all those that passed on without me telling them what living was like with them in my life.

Make a list of those who you want to say I'm sorry to. Don't delay but tell them today because no man is promised tomorrow. It may be difficult but it will be worth it in everyones’ lives involved. I believe that Elton John had it right when he said "Sorry seems to be the hardest word." I don't know if it is for you, but it sure is for me.
