Through the harsh reality of steel bars
I see the cold and distant stars
Inside I search the old lonely trails
Wondering why they all seem to fail.
They wind together and then are lost
Sheathing my heart in a cold winter frost.

Take the hate and pain from my chest
And you’ll find that I have nothing left .
I wonder why I shed no tears
Lady Justice seems to say
I was lost along the way
Searching for a soft warm Light
To take away the cold dark night.

Dreading what the Light may reveal
Hating this sweaty fear I feel
An hour after I turn in to bed
I dream all my heroes are dead.

I crawl from my troubled sleep
Knowing the seed I sowed I now reap
I turn from the bars and walk away
The stars have lost their beauty today
I turn to and fro in my cell
Trapped inside my own personal Hell.
