Beyond Stuff to Do: Connecting with Your Quiet Leadings

Connecting to your still small voice, discovering leadings and how they transform the busyness of everyday into a more centered life. We look forward to you joining us in the company women in the Blue Ridge Mountains as we share a weekend of worship, chanting, workshops, silence, and relaxing.

There are pay phones in the lobbies of the dorms. NOTE: Some cell phones are not consistently reliable. There will be a message board in the registration area. 

The following directions are supplied by the 4-H camp.
DIRECTIONS:
From D.C.:
I-66W to Exit 13 (Linden). Left off ramp, right on Rt. 55W. Second traffic light, left on 522S. Drive 1.7 miles, right on Rt. 604. Two miles to 4-H Center on left.

Scenic Route from D.C.: I-66W to Rt. 29S(Gainesville). Follow Rt. 29S to Warrenton, Va. Right on Rt. 211W. Follow Rt. 211W for 20 miles, right on Rt. 522N. Follow Rt. 522N for 13 miles, left on Rt. 604. Two miles to 4-H Center on left.

From Roanoke: I-81N to I-66E. At Exit 6 (Front Royal), take 522S. Follow for 5 miles (through Front Royal), right on Rt. 604. Two miles to 4-H Center on left.

From Charlottesville: Rt. 29N to Rt. 231N through Sperryville, Va to 211E. Follow 211E to 522N, turn left. Follow 522N, turn left onto Rt. 604. Drive two miles to 4-H Center on left.

From Richmond: I-95N past Fredericksburg, Va to Rt. 17N to I-66W to Exit 13 (Linden). Left off ramp right on Rt. 55W. Second traffic light, left on 522S. Drive 1.7 miles, right on Rt. 604. Two miles to 4-H Center on left.

From Baltimore: I-70W to I-81S to I-66E. At Exit 6 (Front Royal, Va.) , take 522S. Follow for 5 miles (through Front Royal). Right on Rt. 604. Two miles to 4-H Center on left.

Schedule 
Registration begins at 4:00 pm on Friday, and dinner will be served at 6:30 sharp. No dinner will be available after 7:00 on Friday. This is the policy of the facility. The evening program on Friday begins at 7:30. We will end with lunch on Sunday at 12:30 pm with checkout by 2:00 pm. A full schedule will be given in your information packet upon arrival.

Logistics
 
Note: Please bring this sheet with you for reference.
 
• Parking may be difficult before 4:00 because others groups may be in the process of leaving. Come up the hill and turn right and park in the lot on the far side of Conference Building. There will be signs to direct you to registration.
 
Cancellations received on or before January 4, 2008 will be refunded in full. We will not be able to refund cancellations made after January 5, 2008.
 
• You will need to bring all your own linens, including a pillow case. The Northern Virginia  4-H Center can be chilly in January. You may want to bring an extra blanket ora sleeping bag, for the nights. Bring layers of clothing –some meeting areas are cold.
 
• A flashlight will make it much easier to get to your room after the lights are out.
 
• And don’t forget to bring your personal items (clothes, toothbrush, soap, towels, feminine hygiene products, umbrellas, earplugs (optional) etc
 
• Some rooms will be designated for early to bed. Approximately 25% of the people will need to sleep in upper bunks. You will sign up for rooms when you arrive, except for special needs.
 
• The retreat center has clear policies, including a rule of no alcohol on the premises. No smoking inside buildings.
 
• Plan to turn off your cell phone during sessions and meals. Thanks for being considerate of others with cell phone use at other times.
 
• Mealtimes are set, and you will need to be on time. There will be a silent table at each meal as well as some other theme tables. You may want to bring your own easily identifiable mug and water bottle. If you’re into reusing, bring flatware and a cloth napkin.
 
All meals will be vegetarian. It is not possible for the center to accommodate vegan meals or the many food allergies that were noted on the registration forms. If necessary, please bring any extra food supplements you may need.
 
• We will provide simple, healthy snacks. If you have specific snack needs, you may want to bring them.
 
• Several activities may involve writing. Bring a journal, pens, clipboard, pencils, or other writing supplies.
 
• Two rooms, an Art Room and a Quiet Room, will be set up for your use. You are invited to bring books to share in the Quiet Room.
 
• We encourage you to bring your instruments especially drums
 
• Bring poems, skits, stories and dances for the Coffee House. Let us know, once you arrive, if you are interested in sharing on Saturday night. There will be a sign up sheet in the lobby.
 
• Feel free to bring knitting or other handwork projects.
 
• The 4-H Center is near the Appalachian Trail – bring hiking shoes and gear.

·         Bring yoga mats and loose comfortable clothing

Some artists will have items to sell. Please bring your checkbook in order to support our Quaker craftswomen.
