2009 Catoctin Alumni Weekend
August 14-16

The time has come to register for the 2009 Catoctin Alumni Weekend! It's going to be fun! The weekend is scheduled for August 14-16, 2009. Please plan to arrive after lunch on the 14th and stay through lunch on the 16th.

We are offering Work Grants this year to help those in need of financial assistance. We don't want anyone to miss the event because of money!

The weekend will run as a typical camp day and will include Fire Circle, Unit Activities, Meals, Socio Economic Groups, Afternoon Activities, Evening Activities, General Swim, Rest Period...and more!

New this year will be an Art/Craft exhibit during Afternoon Activities on Saturday. We want to see your work! If you're the creative type and have been producing works over the years...or will be over the next few months, please feel free to bring your work to display and SELL! Artwork will be displayed on the dining hall tables in a location to be determined. We suggest that you consider donating a portion of your proceeds to the camping program.

A few words about who's invited:

Anyone who has attended/worked at camp in the past is invited. Those under 18 must be accompanied by their alumni parents.

Two things we need help with:

  1. Getting the word out. Please forward this message to all Catoctin Alumni you know and ask them to do the same. The Registration and Work Grant forms are attached to this email so please don't forget to forward them as well. BYM will also be posting the registration forms on the websites and I will forward you that link once they have uploaded the forms.
  2. We need a Kitchen Director for the weekend! This will be a paid position. We are looking for someone who has experience, is organized, and can put together a team of kitchen staff to help them. The Kitchen Staff positions are being offered in the Work Grant Program and we will assist the Kitchen Director in putting together a team. Please let us know if you are interested in this position or if you know of someone who might be.

We will be posting the invitation on Facebook and Yahoo Groups so don't be surprised if you get multiple invitations for this event. We're just trying to reach as many folks as possible.

Please use this email to forward any questions you may have. You may also call Chris DeWilde at 804-519-0022.

Now, print out the Registration Forms and let us know you are coming! We can't wait to see you!

Best, Chris DeWilde and Koren Brigham
