Christian Peace Witness for Iraq
Dear Friends:
This a loud call for us to join other Christian Peace Churches who stand against the war in Iraq.
This is happening on Friday, March 16, and begins with a Worship service in the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, and is followed by a candle light procession to Lafayette Park near the White House. The time span is 7:00 to about midnight. You can read the complete schedule at <www.christianpeacewitness.org> and you can register so you'll have a place to be in the Cathedral as well as an opportunity to donate toward the cost of the event.
I'm writing you so you'll tell all the Quakers you know about this opportunity to carry our peace message into the minds of all whom the media can reach.
These are hard times for people who seek peace in the world and we need to continue raising our voices against the escalation, to reassure our congress people that they do the right thing when they deny the funding for the deployment, and finally ... maybe ... the President will hear it too.
Please plan to join the many people who are dedicated to this service to our faith and to the citizens of the world.
