From the Development Director

In the past few months I've visited several Meetings - including Herndon,
Goose Creek, Stony Run, Homewood, Charlottesville, and Warrington and Nottingham Quarters - to talk about Quakers and philanthropy. The discussion has been rich as I've listened to Meetings' concerns over their ability to meet their financial needs and support their witness in the world. (more...)
Youth Program News
Since the last Interchange, there have been three youth conferences
in BYM. In January, there was a retreat for the Young Friends Executive Committee (Exec). In February, there was a Young Friends conference,
and in March, a Junior Young Friends conference. Each of these gatherings brought Spiritual growth to the young people who attended. (more...)
Seeking Representatives
The Baltimore Yearly Meeting Ad Hoc Committee on Gender and Sexual Diversity Concerns seeks a representative from each Meeting or worship group within BYM to serve as a contact person for concerns that come before our Committee. Our Committee is growing, and expanding in our work to fulfill our mission, and would like to have a contact person in each Meeting who we could correspond with. (more...)

BYM Service Opportunities
Have you ever wondered how the Religious Society of Friends continues to thrive and change? The secret is Spirit-led Friends willing to dedicate time, energy, and hard work. Serving on a BYM committee can be a very special experience. It is an opportunity to engage in meaningful work, deepen Quaker roots, and widen horizons by working with Friends from the 40 Monthly Meetings and 7 preparative Meetings. Over the last few months, with the help of glossaries from other Yearly Meetings and elsewhere, we have developed a proposed glossary of Quaker terms for your consideration. A History of Baltimore Yearly Meeting
In 1972 Bliss Forbush, Quaker, educator,
author and historian published the "History of Baltimore Yearly Meeting of Friends," a comprehensive look at the growth, the changes, the issues and the personalities which shaped our Yearly Meeting. Out of print for several years, BYM has now republished this volume.
